STEM Professionals in Schools is a national volunteer program run by CSIRO that facilitates partnerships between schools and industry to bring real STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) into the classroom.
They are looking to increase the diversity of people they have involved to enable students to see the broader picture of where STEM in applied and allow them to make clearer decisions about their career aspirations.
Teachers at local schools near you would like to welcome you into their classrooms!
If you are interested in sharing your love of STEM (science, technology, engineering and/or maths) with school students and their teachers, then STEM Professionals in Schools is for you!
The ways that you can assist are endless! Partnership activities could include:
- Giving a career talk;
- Developing and assisting with classroom activities;
- Doing a demonstration;
- Helping with excursions;
- Supporting students in open ended investigations;
- Mentoring teachers or students;
- Hosting a work experience student.
It is completely free and easy to register. Visit the link below to find out more.
