Title: Improving Multiple Comparisons in Block Designs Using Judgement Post-Stratification of Plots

In this talk, we provide an overview of our ongoing research on multiple comparisons of treatments in block designs, particularly where treatment-independent covariate information is available at the plot level. These covariates may represent baseline, environmental, or circumstantial characteristics of the plots assigned to treatments. While the covariates do not need to be strictly quantifiable and may be measured with error, they should allow for a consistent ranking of expected responses in similarly treated plots. We present inferential results for a simple balanced block model, using judgement post-stratification on the covariates, and support the findings with simulations. The application of this method is illustrated with examples from grains research.
